Revelations for my life, keep me moving upward

Revelations revelations revelations for me...

"Thinking of you with a baby, a husband, a too skinny you is like you were a different person. The many lives we get while here on earth is awesome. I'm learning instead of looking at this one as ONE life- I look at each phase as a new one. So when I switch gears and begin something new- it does not take away or make me feel bad for not completing the old- that was a different person...and maybe I'll be her again and pick up and complete what she started...if not- fine- because in my NEW life- I can begin again without her baggage"

Whoa. I just spoke that? And saw it with much clarity as I looked at her life and the different people she embody.
So many different people, cultures, thoughts.. made me think of MY lives. The people within me. The miles we've walked and who was left behind. Who's still walking with me? .....Only me.... this NEW me... yes, I've taken the baton and some instructions from her but she's back there- and I'M HERE...

I am a new creation, many times. Each level, stage in life is not only growth, but change and newness...
Why let the old life disappointments hold me down...?
Why be captive to old fears, in my new life?
Why am I clinging to someone else's ( that girl of the past) struggles?
Her fears should not be my fears...obviously she over came them, because she gave birth to me...
...and the crazy thing, I say .. "I don't believe in reincarnation" ...but I believe in being born again...in more ways than one....
The difference to me, reincarnation, I'm coming back still me in soul/spirit- just in a different from... born again, I'm new- not only in form, but also in mind- in spirit....

Today is the first day of the rest of your life!
How many times have you heard this saying?

It is a very powerful saying, and can really make one stop and realize that, this is so true!

When it comes to “taking care of ourselves” how many of us really do?
How many hours per week do we put into taking care of ourselves?
How many hours should we?
Us women usually take care of plenty, including but not limited to: maintaining a home, the
children, the pets, the spouse, the work-at-home-job, and on, and on, and on...
But, I have taken a good look around, and I have noticed that us "Wonder Women", really don’t
take as much care of ourselves as we should...
Well, I am here to tell ya that “Today is the First Day of the Rest of Your LIFE, take care of your Life!”

Things You Cannot Lose

I’ve had this saved on my desktop for a few days. Wanting to add it to this site, but never finding the time to do so. Today I re-read it and was grateful to God for his divine timing and power. I needed to read this, TODAY. Yesterday, I wouldn’t have heard. Today it was meant for my soul.

~Nia

Things You Cannot Lose

When you worry too much about losing something, you've already lost it. For your worry prevents you from receiving any value out of whatever you're so worried about losing.
Things do change, and what is here today may well be gone tomorrow. You can worry and fret over that reality, or you can joyfully and lovingly make the most of all you have right now.
The joy that you fully experience, you will not lose. The love that you live and give, cannot be taken from your heart by any outside circumstance.
If you invest yourself too heavily in the fleeting, superficial things in life, you'll be setting yourself up for a shattering disappointment when those things are no longer with you. Instead,
learn to treasure those real, substantial, meaningful things that time and events cannot erase.
Get in the habit of fully living each day with meaning and purpose.
You'll find yourself worrying less about what you have to lose, and focusing more on what you have to use.
Express gratitude for all you have by making the very most of it.
And you'll always have plenty to be thankful for.

Serve A Purpose

Taken from Daily Motivator on BBON : http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Black_Business_Owners_Network/

Does it serve any purpose to complain about things you cannot change? So why would you want to waste your time doing it?Does it serve any purpose to fill your thoughts with regret and resentment over what happened long ago? So why would you waste even a single moment on such a negative, unpleasant pursuit?

You're far better off doing something that does serve a purpose. You're far better off using your time and energy to learn, to create, to love, to understand and experience life.

Your thoughts and actions are immensely powerful. Rather than using them to hold yourself down, put them to work on a valuable and positive purpose.

Use your energy to serve a positive purpose, and as a result you will have even more energy. Fill your time in the service of a positive purpose, and your life will be filled with truly meaningful treasures.

Choose the thoughts and actions that serve a purpose. And life will serve you its real rewards.

Less Stress

Taken from Daily Motivator on BBON : http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Black_Business_Owners_Network/

The stress you experience is not caused by the things that happen around you.
Your stress comes from the way you react to those things that happen. To experience less stress, you do not need to undertake some grand project that will change the world around you. It is simply a matter of observing and adjusting the way you respond to life. The things that really upset you are able to get to you because you allow them to do so. You may not be able to stop them from happening, yet you can absolutely choose not to obsess over them. Yes, your stress may indeed be telling you that you need to take some action or another. Yet after you receive the message, there is no need to continue holding on to the stress.

Reducing your stress is as easy as re-directing the focus of your thoughts. The more you practice doing it, the more quickly and naturally it comes. The thoughts you choose to hold in your mind will determine the amount of stress you have.

So choose to leave the stress behind, and put your energy into positive, fulfilling pursuits.

What are your intentions?

*Diva Confession*

I will strive to be a gift to others, always seeing to enrich their lives as they enrich mine.

“Whether dealing with a man, a mentor, someone in a position to further your understanding in life, or a friend, it should never just be about what they can give to you. You must always be mindful of what you can give to them. You must be willing to exchange resources.
When friendships are not formed from the heart, they will die the moment one of the party’s agendas has been fulfilled. In these cases, one always walks away feeling used, vowing never to be so free about sharing their resources again. But, if a rich deposit is left in the other person’s life, both are richer for he exchange.
What spice do you have to add to someone else’s life?
What thing of beauty?
What common ground or experience?
How much are you willing to give while pursuing what you want?

Diva’s are always considerate, never purposing to take more than they give.”

*Excerpts from the book: The Diva Principle by Michelle McKinney Hammond.

It’s funny that my “Diva Confession” is of this topic. I was speaking with a friend about this today. It’s very important to maintain our relationships. It’s even more important to develop relationships with the right motives. While we all want to prosper and ‘network for success’- we cant truly be successful where it counts *spiritually * if we do not develop relationship with the correct motives. Let’s search ‘us’ and maintain our networks, better yet, let’s establish our networks as friends.

Peace & Blessings

Inspiration is everywhere

I truly believe that. If you’re a writer-any little shift can cause you to have an out pouring of heartfelt sonnets- you know, the one you’ve been wrecking your brain for weeks and searching your soul, trying to find. The slightest sound, raindrop, love interest or news of a birth can help you compose the next masterpiece.
But, why are we dead in-between? Why do we suddenly get ‘writers block’, when we were on a roll?

Are we really seeing the things around us that could inspire us? Are we tapping into the resources we have at hand? Or are we blind and only looking for a major EVENT to inspire us?

Where is my muse?
That has often been my question… followed by “He left me and now I must search for a new one.”
But I was looking for the wrong kind of muse. I was looking for someone to give me the beginning of a piece so I could end it.

Yesterday I took time out of my “ALL ABOUT ME” world, and I ventured into speaking and getting to know people I already have semi-established relationships with. I ventured in solidifying my networking and nurturing them- versus- acquiring a new friend, heavily speaking to them for two days and forgetting about them. I ventured into caring about someone else and what his or her life is like.
In the process I was welcomed with a beautiful surprise. Not only do I have much in common on a business level with these people, but also on a personal level.
People I’ve known of for at least 2 years had the answers to my questions. People with stories that have not only touched me enough to write about, but people with stories that ‘Awed’ me and inspired me to preserver to reach MY goals.
Also, I’ve had a bit of ‘writers’ block on my novel. Unsure of the role a particular character will play, in the process of speaking to a new friend about the premise- it came to me!! Can you imagine the excitement?! LOL

These are all things that would have never opened up to me, it I didn’t open myself up to people. To life. To living.

Inspiration IS everywhere. Let’s remember that and not put on our blinders as we live each day.
